Get ready for a typical summer weekend! Hot and humid with scattered rain chances in the afternoon, much like what our Friday is featuring.
In between the storms, temperatures will build to the low 90s with feels-like temps in the triple digits for some spots, like what we saw right around 2 PM this Friday.
Scattered rain chances stay with us into next week–slightly ramping up for Monday and Tuesday. 50% of us will see showers, 50% of us wont.
Looking at the extended forecast…temperature wise, not bad! Upper 80s, low 90s–but don’t forget with the humidity it does feel quite a bit hotter.
The rain we’ve had so far has given us noticeable forward movement on the drought situation. Across the state, we’ve seen about a 15-20% improvement in the major drought categories. Locally, three of our counties, Harris, Fort Bend, and Matagorda counties have seen the best improvements.
And here’s a quick check at the tropics: We’re watching two areas of disturbed weather. One will be pushing to the Western Caribbean with a 20% of development over the next five days. It’ll encounter dry air, which is why for the time being it has a low chance to see development. The other is a ways away pushing to the Central Atlantic.
